Bible Study & Lenten Lectures

Bible Study meets Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish House. We follow the Yale Bible Study program, which offers course materials on select books of the Bible, deepened by insights from Yale Divinity School professors. Tea and coffee are available and all are invited to join us.

We offer a spiritual formation series each Lent. This year we are encouraging parishioners to read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. This classic of Christian apologetics is made up of several brief and easily digestible chapters, which are adapted from a series of BBC radio talks Lewis gave during the Second World War. Lewis makes a case for “mere Christianity” as the answer to the great existential questions facing humankind, such as the nature of the universe, the meaning of life and the problem of pain. The clergy will take up the book in three sections for teaching and group discussion on March 8, 15 and 22 after Coffee Hour. Copies of Mere Christianity are available for purchase at the church for $14.50.
