Life after Death “Fireside Chat”

March 12 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Join us in the Assembly Hall on Sunday, March 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for an exploration of one of the key themes of Lent––our mortality, and the place of death in our lives with God.

The format for this Lenten forum will be a “Fireside Chat,” as our own Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Jung-Chul Lee will be joined in conversation by Jeannie Reed, author of The Afterlife Book: Because You Never Got a Chance to Say Goodbye. Reed is a friend of the parish, and her book takes a close look at the hidden workings of the spirit world and the endless life of the soul––how it all seems to function, and the earthly forces at play that influence the relationship between the afterlife and life as we know it.

Reed will offer a whole new/old way of looking at life and after-life, expressing the hope that, after the conversation, those who come “won’t be afraid of dying anymore.” As Reed engages these questions in conversation with a variety of mystics, oracles, and thinkers–from quantum physicists to psychics–we’ll also ask: “What is the relationship between these ways of thinking and a classical Christian understanding of death and the afterlife?”
