“How Stories Can Save Us”

October 30, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

There is a depth to story that we rarely take time to ponder, let alone to tell and hear. Story is how we transform pain. Story is how we make something useful out of the absurd. Sharing stories is a fundamental Christian practice for uncovering the life of God within ourselves and the world around us. In this transformational workshop, author, spiritual director, and community builder Mark Yaconelli will lead an hour-long, interactive presentation on the power of storytelling to heal our families, our communities, and ourselves.

Mark will also guest preach at the 11:00 a.m. service. He is a widely sought after speaker and the author of six books, including his most recent: Between the Listening and the Telling: How Stories Can Save Us. Mark is also the founder and director of The Hearth and has been described by Anne Lamott as “one of this country’s most important and articulate spiritual teachers.
