THE WEEK OF JULY 29 – AUGUST 5, 2007

Today, July 30, the church remembers William Wilberforce, Renewer of Society (1759-1833).  His life and abolitionist efforts are presented in the movie, Amazing Grace, released in February of this year.

Let your continual mercy, O Lord, enkindle in your Church the never-failing gift of love, that, following the example of your servant William Wilberforce, we may have grace to defend the children of the poor, and maintain the cause of those who have no helper; for the sake of him who gave his life for us, your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Wednesday, August 1  12:15 pm. Holy Eucharist

                                    6:30 pm. Holy Eucharist with homily.

 

Thursday, August 2     7:00 pm. Film, Faith, and Fellowship in the Parish House.  The movie, The Maldonado Miracle, will be shown.  There will be a short pre-film discussion and a brief reflection period following the movie.  Bring a dessert to share!    

 

Friday, August 3          12:15 pm. Holy Eucharist with Prayer for Healing.

           

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 5

 

8:30 am:  Holy Eucharist

in the Chapel of the Nativity

After the service, there is a Coffee Hour in the Parish House.  Lemonade and iced tea are served, along with coffee.

 

 

COMING UP AT INCARNATION

 

Tues., August 14         7:00 pm. Twenties and Thirties Drinks and Discussion meets at the Parish House.  We’ll walk to a local bar for fellowship and discussion; please call the church office, 212-689-6350, if you are running late so we can wait for you.  First drink – be it a Coke or a beer- is on the church.   

 

Wed., August 15          7:00 pm. Kitchen Club meets to learn about, prepare, and enjoy salads.  We accept free-will donations to cover the cost of the food.         

 

Sun., August 19           The final Sunday for our seminarian, Ms. Ann Tillman.  A brunch will be held in her honor, immediately following the 11:00 am service at which she will preach.  The brunch will be family style and feature pasta, salads, drinks, desserts; $5 contribution requested.

 

Tues., August 21         6:30 pm. A Sunday School Parents’ Planning Meeting.  Dinner will be served, and childcare will be provided.
