THE WEEK OF JULY 15 – JULY 22, 2007

This week the church remembers Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Amelia Bloomer,
Sojourner Truth, and Harriet Ross Tubman, who are jointly given the title of Liberators and Prophets. 

Sojourner Truth

 

  O God, whose Spirit guides us into all truth and makes us free: Strengthen and sustain us as you did your servants Elizabeth, Amelia, Sojourner, and Harriet. Give us vision and courage to stand against oppression and injustice and all that works against the glorious liberty to which you call all your children; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Wednesday, July 18     12:15 pm. Holy Eucharist

                                    6:30 pm. Holy Eucharist with homily.

 

Thurs., July 19             7:00 pm. Film, Faith, and Fellowship in the Parish House.  The movie, Bee Season, will be shown.  There will be a short pre-film discussion and a brief reflection period following the movie.  Refreshments served.   

 

Friday, July 20             12:15 pm. Holy Eucharist with Prayer for Healing.

            Incarnation Camp Board meeting.

 

Saturday, July 21         Incarnation Camp Board meeting.

 

 

SUNDAY, JULY 22

 

8:30 am:  Holy Eucharist

in the Chapel of the Nativity

Homily: the Rector

 

11:00 am:  Morning Prayer

Sermon: The Rector, “God First”

 

12 noon: A short service of Holy Eucharist follows Morning Prayer

 

After the service, there is a brunch in honor of Sandy Webb, who is leaving New York to attend Virginia Seminary.  The $5 family style luncheon (pasta, salad, drinks, dessert) will commence after Coffee Hour in the Assembly Hall. 

 

 

COMING UP AT INCARNATION

 

Thurs., August 2          7:00 pm. Film, Faith, and Fellowship in the Parish House.  The movie, The Maldonado Miracle, will be shown.  There will be a short pre-film discussion and a brief reflection period following the movie.  Refreshments served.

 

Wed., August 15          7:00 pm. Kitchen Club meets to learn about, prepare, and enjoy salads.  We accept free-will donations to cover the cost of the food.         

 

Sun., August 19           The final Sunday for our seminarian, Ms. Ann Tillman.  A brunch will be held in her honor, immediately following the 11:00 am service at which she will preach.

 

Tues., August 21         6:30 pm. A Sunday School Parents’ Planning Meeting.  Dinner will be served, and childcare provided.
