THE WEEK OF MAY 20 – MAY 27, 2007

 

On Friday, May 25, the church remembers the Venerable Bede: Priest, Monk and Scholar (735).  Of Bede's many scholarly works, his History of the English Church and People is the best-known and earned him the title "Father of English History." 

 

 

 

Heavenly Father, you called your servant Bede, while still a child, to devote his life to your service in the disciplines of religion and scholarship: Grant that as he labored in the Spirit to bring the riches of your truth to his generation, so we, in our various vocations, may strive to make you known in all the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

*The Adult Forum/Bible Study meets every Sunday at 10:00 am in the Parish House Dining Room.  We are taking a close look at the Holy Spirit as portrayed in

Scripture, tradition, and the Arts.
