Saturday, April 7:

Women’s Group, we are going to try something new during Holy Week.  Holy Saturday marks the day of the church year when vigil was kept outside Christ’s tomb.  His female disciples were particularly faithful as they waited for the Sabbath to end so they could anoint his body in proper preparation for burial.  We will gather Saturday, April 7, at 4:00 pm, to contemplate the faith and witness of those women, and to join them in their waiting.  There will be tea, Scriptural meditations, and prayer; then we will adorn the church with flowers before the Easter Vigil begins at 6:30 pm.  Please RSVP by calling the church office, 212-689-6350, or emailing me Amanda@churchoftheincarnation.org.

Sunday, April 8:

12:30 pm. Parish Easter Brunch at Barbes Restaurant,

21 East 36 Street.  There will be a choice of three appetizers: soup, green salad, or endive salad.  There will also be a choice of three entrees: goat cheese omelet, cobb salad, or chicken brochette.  Coffee and tea included.  To make a reservation, call the Parish Office (212-689-6350) and send in your check. Adults $24, Children $12.

Incarnation’s Service Schedule for Holy Week and Easter is posted on the church’s website:

http://churchoftheincarnation.org/programs/holyweek_2007.html

Holy Week dramatically celebrates Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday), the institution of the Last Supper (Maundy Thursday), the Passion and Death of Christ (Good Friday), and the miracle of His Resurrection (Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday). We hope you’ll consider inviting your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to participate in a service, or services, at Incarnation.

May the observance of these Holy Days deepen your faith in the Risen Lord.

Be well.
